As Artist finish their "Wow" art project including finish the "Evaluation" section of the Artistic Habits worksheet then they can go to the "Finishing" Center. There are about 4 more steps to complete the whole experience of applying the Artistic Process that break down into #Hashtag Station, Think, Pair, Share Station, Artist Statement Worksheet and Art Label.
#Hashtag Station
Artists are to answer 5 questions that serve as a check point for Name, Special Class Name, Title and completion of Artistic Habits worksheet.
Artist Statement
Artists are to describe their artwork, explain how they created it and discuss what inspired them to make their art. I explained to the young artists that I didn't actually learn about "artist's statement" until I was in college and that they are at a great advantage learning about writing one at such a young age.
Think, Pair, Share Station: Sharing is Caring
Artist are to verbally share to a fellow artist about their art work. At this center there are prompts, suggestion and reminders on how to clearly communicate in a respectful manner.
For example: Ask your partner the title of their artwork.
Ask your partner about their artist's process.
*What worked?
* What didn't work?
* What do you like about your artwork?
Turn in your work & thank your partner for working with you.
(This Artist Statement was originally shared with me by Ronni Haslet a fellow FWISD art teacher. Since I didn't have the word document I ended up retyping the document and adding the class branding character.)
