I can't believe it's already March and we have covered so much in our year of transition. I originally planned on keeping the SHE Art Studio Blog weekly but as it turns out Class Dojo has been my number one source of communicating with parents, students, fellow teachers and administrators in a flash. We have been able to share videos witnessing students engaged, teaching, creating and having fun all while being responsible.
The way it works
Basically all the homeroom teachers create their classroom on Class Dojo and invite parents to join their class for updates of points earned, pictures of activities or even videos. Then the homeroom teachers share their homeroom with the specials teachers and that gives us access to give students points, message parents, post pictures and videos of course with parent permission.
I absolutely love this app because it gives me current time to post artists working hard and also reward them for their hard work. I've also had better positive communication with parents about student's progress.
If you haven't joined Class Dojo or shared your class with specials, make sure to join us before the end of this school year.
